Meet the Chef

A Cut Above

It is a rare thing for one to know exactly what their true calling is when growing up, but Chef Shehu Fitzgerald broke that mold at a young age when he decided a lifetime of culinary exploration awaited! Countless hours spent in kitchens around the world have honed his skills and helped make him a distinguished name. The strength of Chef Shehu’s cooking lies in his absorbing knowledge of worldwide cuisine and deft skills combining them into complex dishes with mouthwatering flavors.

A classically trained chef with a shiny degree from Johnson and Wales University, Chef Shehu continued his learning at the Culinary Institute of America and the Birmingham College of Food.

To top it off, Chef Shehu is also a member of the Les Amis d’Escoffier Society! He has almost three decades of experience in high-end hospitality and the food and beverage industry, having lent his talents to such esteemed brands as The Plaza Hotel, Ritz Carlton, Marriott Marquis, and the Essex House!!

Not stopping there – because the excellence MUST continue – Chef Shehu has been featured in numerous articles, blog posts and more throughout his career! His work has been published in Urban Ink Magazine, Let’s Do Lunch, H.A.R.T. magazine, and he has been a guest on In Tuned, and FORSA!

And to top it all off, he experienced a victory on Food Network’s popular show: Chopped!!!

There really is very little he cannot do.

Chef Shehu is a proud supporter of his community, often going above expectations by giving back. His efforts range from assisting local gardens to working with the American Cancer Society.

His latest foray is one we can all enjoy. Chef Four Corners provides an engaging culinary community, as well as a new home for the Gentlemen’s Marketplace where you’ll find his signature old fashioned beef jerky and blends of spices inspired by his travels around the world!!
